Headache for most of the day. Angry violent man in therapy waiting room made for an exciting upsetting time when he started talking to me and threatening staff and I found myself triggered. Excellent therapist helped me through it though.

I may be failing on the cola rules but I really feel like I am making progress with my depression and using Health Month to stick to a strict meditation and journaling routine is really paying off. My therapist is happy with my progress too and approves of this place. We discussed rules that could be put in place for May.

Ugh! Sorry. No one needs that, but hurrah for excellent therapists!

Low on energy as it is 2:47 and I’m awake! But feeling calm and happy after seeing the friend last night. Hoping I can power through the day.

Awoke again with a headache that stuck around til evening. Didn’t accomplish much but forced myself to socialize with a friend I hadn’t seen for months which put me in a better mood.

Another day where I woke up with a headache. But otherwise a day where I cleaned the house top to bottom. I keep missing the 7:30 am wake up time by half an hour but I figure the weekend allows that.

Good for you still getting things done despite the headache. Hope it goes away soon!

This limit soda rule is just something I cannot do. Especially since that is what I automatically turn to binge on when I’m feeling in the deep pits. All I wanted to do today was eat and drink soda to blot out feelings. Blah.

Maybe the change you want to make is too big right now. Can you shrink it or modify it some other way for next month? The book “Switch” which I’ve been raving about talks about making changes really small in order to be successful.

I tried to give up soda and couldn’t. Now I just limit it as much as I can and have a water rule to keep me drinking what I need when I’m thirsty.

I had a limit soda rule my first month, and dropped it in favor of a much higher water drinking rule. So now, if I want a soda, I try to drink some water first, and if I still want the soda, I have it, and don’t beat myself up about it.

I think I may make a drink a water before a soda rule. I just find if I have a limit something rule and I slip on it I go to a bad place in my head and it affects everything else. Maybe if I make it a “do water first” rule with no limitations on soda it’ll work?

I didn’t have a soda rule to begin with, but i was drinking more coke than i’d like to be.

My water rule has sort of taken care of that as a byproduct though, since i’m drinking water through the day and thus feel too full for soda. So i think you and Bianca are probably onto something with the ‘make a water rule’ idea, rather than a ‘no soda’ one.

Overindulged and slept in but woke up with a headache due to open windows and lawn mowing. Why am I continually surprised each year that I’m allergic to grass?

She lost 4 life points for missing the following: stop using the computer after 8pm at least 5 days a week, drink at least 22 glasses of water a week, stop caffeine after 12 p.m. at least 3 days a week, allow 14 sodas a week. Though I lost a lot of points today and failed a majority of my rules this week I’m proud of myself today. Had a major emotional break down at therapy and was able to regain control and use journaling, meditation and other things taught to come back down into the real world and get distance from the issue. Didn’t immediately seek out self-destructive behavior like over-eating to soothe self.

Thanks :) I was surprised I could pull out of it myself. And my therapist learned something that was small to him was huge to me and apologized for going there without warning. Another reason why I like him.
