Got everything on my list done today, including an extra movie watched. Ant-Man was pretty good, more of a heist movie with superpowers than a superhero movie but still good. I enjoyed it. 3 more movies until I catch up to the current MCU output.

Also did 2 hours of cross-stitching project so that was good. I’m about 25% done with what was left.

that one just did not interest me. Did it connect to any of the others much? YAY on the cross stitching!

Falcon is in it, and one of the Avengers HQ briefly. I think Ant-Man might have a roll in the later movies and there’s a sequel coming out. They all have a place to play in the extended MCU. I didn’t like Thor: Dark World at all but I still watched it :p I don’t like seeing my favourite characters fight so I don’t know how much I’ll enjoy Civil War either but it’s next and I really want to watch Dr Strange.

I LOVED Thor: Dark World… but then I adore Loki. LOL Guardians of the Galaxy are great too… and the new Thor: Ragnarok, looks like it will be more “fun”.

Nice, cool, sunny day. The first one, after days of rain.
Volunteered to help at a day-long event, which was pleasant, but it also meant that I spent most of the day indoors. Before sunset, had a nice walk with spouse along the beach. The lake was really beautiful. A young muscular shirtless guy in a crowd of several other young muscular shirtless guys said to my husband, “That’s a sick hat”, and then, considerately, translated for us (lest we take it the wrong way), “That’s a fancy hat”. It was cute and funny – the comment, I mean. The hat is one of those wide-brimmed Australian hats. Spouse likes it now even more than he liked it before (if that’s even possible).

Decluttering: sorted some odds & ends for donation.

Raining in the morning so delayed bike ride till later. Off to Chiro for me and Mct. Pool in the afternoon and snuck in a bike ride before dinner. Did 4 miles. Love my new bike rack as I can take the bike to new spots on the trail for a change of pace.

Wish idiots would quit with fireworks… spoiling my evenings out on the back deck.

Observation from the seat of a bike. Pass so many houses with fabulous pools and/or deck and patio furniture… see no one out there. Only person sitting outside was sitting on his blacktopped driveway – had no pretty backyard… but at least he was outside on a beautiful day.

Got almost everything done that I wanted. Although the one thing I didn’t do…if I really want to enter the cross-stitch dragon into the work art show I NEED to start working on it. I only have outlining left but there’s a lot of it and I need to register by July 6th or 7th if I want to present. It’s been sitting in my closet for a decade and I really would like to get it done.

Spent much of the day waiting on the leak issue to be fixed and trying to concentrate on getting work done. I was pretty distracted. Turns out there was a 2 inch hole in a very corroded pipe two floors above and they had to replace it. In the meantime, our kitchen outlet shorted from the water as well. That was replaced today. So now we just have to give the walls time to dry out before trying to put the medicine cabinet back in. In the meantime, there’s a damp smell and we worry about mold. Super doesn’t seem to be as worried. I wonder if there’s a way to dry air out, like the opposite of a humidifier. Going to look into it. And keep an eye on things.

Looking forward to getting out of town to visit a friend this weekend. Will be a good reset!

Early morning – took Shayleigh to vet to get spayed. Somehow I wrote the day down wrong and even though I confirmed Monday, was supposed to bring her next Tuesday. Fortunately, they had a light day for surgeries and a no-show so they took her anyway.

Then switched to my SUV (BeepBeep) and off to get emmissions checked (passed), returned some “made in china” hose connector parts that did not work (were not properly threaded), and then get license plate sticker.

Home and off to pool, but was almost 3pm by this time so waited till I could call and find out what time I could pick up Shay. Got a pickup time that was not going to let me go to personal training so canceled training.

Picked up Shay, she was sleepy. Off to grocery store for some OJ and fruit, hardware store for some “not made in china” hose parts, and then Target for my fav Yogurt. Back to folks for dinner, the home to discover the Thai basil plant I’d ordered had arrived! Planted it. Now need to label the garden. Saw a cool idea on Pinterest to use largish flat black rocks and paint (or silver/gold sharpies) and write the names on them!

Private lesson for Shayleigh then headed out to school to grade the final of the student who was on vacation the last week of school. He had a C going into the final (it was a project) – failed the project – only did 1/2 of it which is sad as he had a ton of time to work on it. Brought his grade down to a D for the semester – lazy.

Stopped at Menards to return a part – trying to set up a splitter on my hose. the one I bought was defective – wouldn’t close properly. Picked up a few antique-y looking watering cans. Sister found a cool project on Pinterest to add lights to the can and make it look like it is watering at night. going to try it.

Lawn mower dude called while I was still on the west side of town that my mower was done! ONly $30 to fix – so happy it wasn’t major owrk. Picked it up.

Late getting to the pool, but still enjoyed an hour by it. Spent some time reading some sources for my paper. I’d printed those off when I was at school.

Dinner then yoga class. Discovered a knot on my hip which might be why I’m having issues with some things. See Chiro on Friday.

bunnyrabbit, in the Yellow Bracket, played Wednesday June, 21st for 20 points, following 0% of her 3 rules. She lost 3 life points for missing the following: decluttering/organize at least 1 time a week, work on book at least 3 days a week, exercise for 60 minutes at least 2 days a week. Her public review of the day was…

This whole week has been spent dealing with a plumbing issue in the apartment and it still being fixed. It’s actually in the apartment two floors above. We think. This is the second visit with a different plumber. Lots of noisy work being done above us so hopefully today it will be resolved and then we’ll have to wait a long while for the walls and plaster to dry. Bathroom cabinet/sink area is basically unusable for the next few weeks or til we feel comfortable putting the cabinet back in. It’s been a difficult week and hard to concentrate on work when there’s an active leak going on. Even an outlet is unusable from the water in the walls.

So very low on the goal making. Did get to go to yoga and my instructor said I am making progress. I have to work on building space in my chest so I can handle downward dog better. She told me a few exercises I could do. The book reviewer got back to me with feedback on my manuscript and it was very useful! 3 more people to hear from and then it’s off to make the dummy for it.

Stressed about losing health insurance too. It’s a very scary time here.

Thanks. I haven’t lost it yet but it depends on what happens in the Senate. Been following closely and it doesn’t look good. They’ll release a draft today and I’ll pour over it with a fine tooth comb. If it’s anything like the House bill, it’s going to hurt a lot of people.

My mother’s illness (and my own not-great physical state) are sources of stress and upheaval, but that’s not likely to stop. Setting my goals high helps me get anything done instead of the nothing I feel like doing 9 times out of 10, but maybe it’s time to set ’em lower next month… or just accept the likelihood of living with negative points.
